New Dominie Luxury Jelly Handbags are NFL and TSA approved
On August 9th, 2013 there were new restrictions imposed by the NFL on the size of handbags and totes at sports stadiums nationwide (not to mention the TSA screening of carry-on luggage at airports) draws yet more attention to what has become an almost daily challenge: how to bring your handbag into secure areas without strangers rummaging through your personal items. Los Angeles-based luxury goods and accessories designer Dominie Brazzel has come up with an elegant solution: designer see-through jelly tote bags.
D by Dominie is a new collection of affordable handbags available in clear and tinted vinyl. The bags have tan leather handles and a drawstring (also available in faux leather for the environmentally conscious) and a removable high quality silk liner for your more personal belongings. As you arrive at the dreaded checkpoint, you simply empty the contents of the silk liner into the body of the clear bag while security looks on approvingly and – hopefully – waves you through. Once inside, you can restore your modesty, if you wish, by refilling the liner bag at your leisure.
When asked what prompted her to add jelly bags to her collection of ultra-luxury evening bags and men’s formal accessories, Dominie, a seasoned traveler, responded “I was standing in line waiting to go through security at LAX, juggling my handbag in one hand with my shoes and a zip-lock bag of toiletries in the other, and I thought that there must be an easier way to travel! That was when I had the idea to design jelly bags: so I could pass through security checkpoints without all the hassle. Unusually for me, my inspiration came from a completely practical place!”
The bags are available in two sizes (approximately 11″ by 11″ by 7 and 12″ by 12″ by 8″) – each with a detachable shoulder-strap. In addition to the clear version, colors include light pink, Ocean, clear espresso and chocolate. The 100% silk liners – with the distinctive “4-D” Dominie logo – come in a range of colors, from white to chocolate so the customer can mix and match. Clear handbags and clutches are also available with sizes ranging from (approximately 7″ by 11″ by 5″ and 4″ by 8″ by 3″).
The bags are available for purchase online at www.dominieluxury.com and at select retailers nationwide. Prices range from the $57 (for the smaller bags with leatherette trim) to $190 (for the larger bags with leather trim and your choice of liner).
